t is an honor to serve as the 2022 Chairwoman of The Statler Foundation alongside my fellow Trustees. 

Ellsworth Statler once wrote:  “The hotel industry is vital to America’s growth.”  The sum of the sweat and vision of men like Mr. Statler has enhanced America’s greatness.  He devised management techniques that were applicable beyond the hotel industry and significantly contributed to the nation’s general efficiency.

Mr. Statler wanted to open the road to success to ascending generations in the hotel industry through education.  He and his wife Alice were committed to this vision, and continued this dream through Ellsworth’s Will, by establishing The Statler Foundation.

The Trustees of The Statler Foundation have continued Mr. and Mrs. Statler’s vision with their creation of the following programs established to advance education in the hotel industry: Grants, Scholarships of Excellence, Small Scholarships, and Study Abroad Scholarships.

The Trustees and I will see that Alice and Ellsworth’s wishes are followed by providing scholarships to the most deserving hotel/hotel management students and grants to higher education institutions supporting the hotel industry.
